Last week I had the honor of photographing a maternity session for this gorgeous family! Not only are they truly wonderful people, but they have been close friends of ours for so many years now. Kaicee and Dustin have always been such good people to know, with genuine hearts that look out for one another as well as the friends they consider family. I have been honored with photographing their wedding 5 years ago, then I got to document their pregnancy of their first child, Oliver, and now their second pregnancy with their new baby girl.
Over the years Kaicee has been one of my biggest supporters in my art and has loved watching my style change and evolve into what it is now. She has been one of the honest voices in my corner, telling me when I need to get out of my own way and see my own value and in turn, I’ve been able to do the same with her for her own small shop that she owns. Having her in my net of creatives that I get to share ideas with is a blessing. Because she knows what she likes, she had a vision for these photos and after discussing her ideas and showing me some inspirational images we quickly realized that Bowditch Point was going to be the perfect location for their photo shoot to happen.
We were able to bring her Boho style dreams to life, with the golden light of the evening sunset and the dry, tall grasses that line the soft beach. Little Oliver had a blast having his photo taken and was so excited to tell me everything he’s going to do with his little sister once she comes earthside… (don’t tell him he’ll have to wait on a few of those things).
Watching this family grow makes my heart swell with joy. I’m so grateful that we’ve been able to keep them as close friends over the years, that our kids are getting the chance to grow up together and that they trust me to create beautiful photographs for them that will forever memorialize this time in their lives.
